કદાચ તું એક પુસ્તક હોત અને હું એક વાચક;

તારા વિના ખાલી  લાગતું - તારું   ઘર;

તારી અર્ધખુલ્લી આંખોના રહસ્યોને મળતાં અનેક શબ્દો;

 દીવાનાં દિવ્ય પ્રકાશમાં દેખાતું મને ચિત્ર એક;

 મેઘધનુષ્યનાં વિવિધ રંગોથી હું કળતી તારાં વિચાર;

ભીનાં વરસાદમાં રેલાતો તારી બંસરીનો સૂર;

ફેરવી ને પાનાંતારી અમુલ્ય ક્ષણોને જીવંત કરતી અનેકવાર;

Meaning:

Perhaps you were a book and I a reader;

Then I would have understood you and become your promoter...

This house of yours (my existence) wouldn’t seem empty without your presence;

And my existence would have scented through your fragrance...

Many words would have revealed to the secrets of your half-opened eyes;

And a unique light would have appeared to the temple of my heart...

I would have seen a painting through that divine light;

And the gentle colors of that painting would have made many rainbows...

With those various colors of rainbow I would have known your thoughts;

And in the rain of your thoughts I would have get wet at times …

In such rains the sound of your flute would have streamed;

And that flow of stream would have brought a flood of delight…

By turning pages I would have revived your precious moments many times;

And becoming ‘Stream of Amee (sweetness)’ I would have crossed the ocean of your heart...

O Krishna!

Perhaps you were a book and I a reader;

Then I would have understood you and become your promoter... ad
