Reputation is a word made of glass. It may destroy an individual completely, if one doesn’t care enough. And that’s the reason we think a lot before doing or saying anything in public or on social media. Because our acts reveals our character and our character builds our reputation.
Through the social media we are connected with each
other like never before. But we all know how much we hide ourselves from the
virtual and the real world. We wear so many masks to cover up the real thoughts
and real character to the world. And all these just because we care a lot about
the reputation built up by the time. So, we take up and precede all our acts
very cautiously either by hiding or by pretending. Such act of constant pretending
always keeps destroying our own being. We can’t be free and over certain period
we feel worthless.
But if we look back in the History we find some
people who were never worried about their reputation and they’ve lived their
life with complete freedom. All of them were performing one common act; with
complete affection towards it and that too without getting destroyed their
reputation. And that act is Devotion – Lovingly worshiping the God. This act
has never destroyed anyone’s reputation from ages. And to support this
statement I would like to share one Devotional Song written by the Poet
Premaldaas. This devotional song narrated with the real life examples highly
promotes the loving worship towards the Lord Krishna.
Not yet heard of anyone’s reputation being destroyed
by lovingly worshiping The Hari (Lord Krishna); those, whose complete
dedication is towards Shamaliya (Lord Krishna), says the words of the Vedas…
That Dear (Lord Krishna) had saved The Prahlaad and killed The Hiranyakashyap; given the kingdom to The Vibhishan and destroyed The Ravan…
That Dear (Lord Krishna) had accompanied Narsinh Mehta personally; given everlasting status to The Dhruv and established him as his (Lord Krishna’s) dignitary …
That Dear (Lord Krishna) had drunk the deadliest poison (plotted for) The Meera; covered Paanchali (Draupadi) with the pieces of clothes and accomplished all the missions of The Pandavas…
The ones, whose enjoyment is within worshiping The Hari (Lord Krishna) with the Devotional songs; says Premaldaas (The Poet) with folded hands, (Lord Krishna) will take away the pain of (his) devotees ….
Not yet heard of anyone’s reputation being destroyed by lovingly worshiping The Hari (Lord Krishna) …
Here in this devotional song the Poet Premaldaas
urges all of us by folding his hands to worship Lord Krishna. We can worship
that divine with any name of our own choice like - Krishna, Brahman, Buddha,
Jesus, Mohammad, Godliness, Existence, Love etc. but we shouldn’t hesitate in connecting
with that one supreme power who is the creator of life on the earth.
It is said in Bhagwad Geeta - "સર્વ વેદો દ્વારા જાણવા યોગ્ય હું જ છું."
Meaning: I (Lord Krishna) am the one who is acquainted
through all (the knowledge) of all Vedas.
Know the Self, understand that eternal power;
try to be more and more connected with Oneness. I know, in this modern
era we are so much busy in working for our living and that too by keeping our
Reputation safe and secure. But with that we must travel towards our own inner
world, and worshiping that Divine happily by keeping our heart filled with Love and
affection is definitely going to help the internal journey. And history has
made us assured that act of Devotion is not going to affect our Reputation... ad
