Guru Govind dono khade, kake lagu pav!
Balihari Guru aapni, Govind diyo Milay!!

This is a doha (prayer) said by Sage Kabir. He says my Teacher and Govind (Lord Krishna) both are standing together and I’m thinking to whom I should bow first. But in the second line he feels more grateful for his Teacher, because it was his teacher’s enlightening way which showed him the path towards Govind (Lord Krishna)!!

Remembering this Doha on Guru Purnima I would like to share a Gratitude note.

To,

Dear God, My Parents, My Life-partner, My Child, Sisters, Brothers, Elders, Friends, Neighbors, Seniors, Colleagues, all known and unknown people encountered in my life and of course to all my TEACHERS, on this Guru Purnima I’m Grateful to you for giving me the great learning of life.

THANK YOU… FOR THE LEARNING YOU ALL HAVE GIVEN!!!

Happy Guru Purnima!!!

I am a Learner of the Lifetime. And I request you all, to please keep blowing this wind of Knowledge, Lessons, Power, Wisdom, Trust, Hope, Forgiveness, Kindness, Love and Happiness. So I can fly fearlessly. Thanks Always… ad

मन की आँखें खोल, ए ज़िन्दगी के मुसाफ़िर;
ना ही कोई मंज़िल तेरी, और ना ही कोई राही...
Oh! Traveler of Life - Please open the eyes of your heart. There is not any final destination and no one will accompany throughout your life…

अकेले ही चला आया था, और अकेले ही है जाना;
फिर काहे को, किस बात पे यूँ ही रुक जाना...
You have come alone in this world and you’ll have to leave it alone.  Then why you have blocked yourself without any reason…

ज़िन्दगी है एक सफर, और बढ़ना ही है आगे;
फिर क्यों हर मोड़ पर, कदमो को है थामा...
Life is a journey and you’ll have to move ahead. Then why you take a pause on each turn of your way…

जो गुज़र गया वह कल था, नहीं आने वाला फिर से;
भूल जा कल के ग़म, और मनाले आज की खुशियाँ...
Yesterday has already gone and it won’t come again, so forget all sorrows of the past and celebrate today’s happiness…

मुश्किलें तो आयेंगी, आने वाले हर कदम पर;
पहेली है यह ज़िन्दगी, सुलझा दे अपने दम पर...
In each forward step you might find hurdles. But you’ll have to solve each puzzle of the life on your own…

लिखले अपनी दास्ताँ, अपने ही हाथों से;
मेहका दे इस डगर को, अपनी प्यारी बातों से...
Write the story of your life on your own terms and sprinkle the goodness on your way through all your deeds…

मुस्कुराता हुआ चला जा तू, मुस्कुराहटें बिछा कर;
जी ले यूँ ज़िन्दगी, हसीन लम्हो को सजा कर...
Keep smiling while walking on your way and circulate the smiles everywhere. Live your life like capturing beautiful moments…

पता नहीं कब खत्म हो जाए, यह ज़िन्दगी का सफर;
हर रोज़ किसी को भेज दे, ख़ुशी की इक लहर...
Don’t know when the journey of life may come to an end. So everyday, fill the happiness to someone’s life…

छोड़ दे कुछ इस कदर, अपने पैरों के निशाँ;
की रास्ता खुद याद करे तुजे, तेरे गुजरने के बाद...
Walk on the way of your life in such a manner, that the path itself recalls you when you leave it behind…

बन जा थोड़ा मतलबी, और देख ले खुद को कभी;
तेरे ही अंदर बैठा है वह, जिसे ढूंढे तू हर गली...
Be somewhat selfish and attain your own 'Self'. ‘The One’ you are looking for at each lane, is already sitting inside of your own 'Self'…

A few days ago I was encountered by some interesting questions and arguments by my little one:

How the day and night does come?
What is earth? If earth is like a ball, then where are we? Are we inside or outside?
If the earth is moving around The Sun then why don't we fall?
I have checked The Sun outside, nothing is moving around it.

Initially, these questions made me irritated, but after a while I felt amazed that he is curious enough to know something new. He might have heard something about it in the school and wanted to know more. I had explained and made him understood at my level best. But I would have never explained such topic to him at this early age if he was not desperate for the answers.

The point is -
Are we curious enough to know and learn something new?
Do we dare to ask such questions arising inside us?
Are we really looking for any answer in our life?

We are getting the same thing for what we're looking for.  There is one saying in Gujarati Language “Mangya vagar Maa y na pirse” (Meaning: If you don’t ask for, you’ll not be served even by your mother). Don’t expect any kind of help from your Boss or your co-worker and don’t think they will provide you training on any subject without your concern or deep desire to learn something new.  You need to show your interest and desire for learning new things to grow.

Raise the appropriate question, at the appropriate time and to the appropriate person to get the perfect knowledge & quality answer. Learning is a lifetime process and it has nothing to do with the age. Every single person you meet knows something, which you don’t. That doesn’t mean you need to listen to each and every subject of people is talking. From all such distractions of knowledge, decide for yourself on which direction you want to get the excellence. And accordingly associate with such individuals who can provide you the better understanding. Be curious and always ready to learn. And after asking a question properly, listen carefully for better understanding and new learning... ad

“Mahra re Giridhar Gopal …” (Mere to Giridhar Gopal) is a devotional song sung by Meerabai for her beloved Husband (Lord Krishna). Meerabai was a dignified, spiritual singer and devotee of Lord Krishna. Her Bhajans (prayerful songs) are popular throughout the India and they are in passionate praise of Lord Krishna. This prayer - Mahra re Giridhar Gopal shows her eternal feelings of love and her strong belief of her only relation with Lord Krishna.

Mahra re Giridhar Gopal, Dusara na koya.
Dusara na koyi sadhu sakal lok joya.
Mahra re Giridhar Gopal, Dusara na koya…

I have only Giridhar Gopal (Lord Krishna) and no one else.
I have seen all the people, but no one else is as good (as my Giridhar Gopal).
I have only Giridhar Gopal (Lord Krishna) and no one else…

Bhaya chandya, bandha chandya, chandya saga sohya.
Sadha sang baith baith, lok laaj khoya.
Mahra re Giridhar Gopal, Dusara na koya…

I have left my brothers, friends and all the relatives. I have lost the respect (as a Rajput Princess) of all the people, to be in the company with Sages (the devotees of Lord Krishna). I have only Giridhar Gopal and no one else…

Bhagat dekhya raji hua, jagat dekhya roya.
Aswan jal sinch sinch, prem vel bhuya.
Mahra re Giridhar Gopal, Dusara na koya…

I am delighted to see devotees (of Lord Krishna) but feeling sad after looking at the world. I have grounded the creeper of my love (to Lord Krishna) through watering my tears. I have only Giridhar Gopal and no one else…

Dadh math dhrit tadh laya, dar daya chuya,
Rana vish ro pyala bhejya, piya mangan bhuya.
Mahra re Giridhar Gopal, Dusara na koya

Rana has sent a glass of poison (which Meera drank with joy). But the poison got frozen and was absorbed by the churner only because she was having tender feelings (for Lord Krishna). And she was delighted from the bottom (of her heart) for the mercy of her Husband (Lord Krishna, to save her life). I have only Giridhar Gopal and no one else…

Ab t baat phel padya, Jaanya sab koya.
‘Meera’ re lagan lagya, hua ho jo hoya.
Mahra re Giridhar Gopal, Dusara na koya…

Now this news has already spread and everyone knows that Meera is having an intense fondness (for Lord Krishna). What does it matter (let people gossip as they please)?!! I have only Giridhar Gopal and no one else…

This prayer explains the madness and firmness of Meerabai in worshiping Lord Krishna. She was the true believer for the existence and mercy of Lord Krishna and lived her life to get absorbed in contemplation of Lord Krishna. This prayer and Meerabai’s life are a tremendous example of being courageous and absolutely focused towards your own fondness… ad

I visited H. A. College of Commerce one day with the intent of meeting a group of students. The group members I met are Sameer Yadav, Bhavya Patel, Krima Jardosh, Bhumika Agrawal, Juhi Barot, Jaimin Khavadiya, Rinkal Panchal, Pooja Dosani, Vrushangi Gohel and Jean D’souza. Oh! Let me clarify: Ms. Jean D’souza is not a student, but an educator of this college. Why am I writing about this group in this Tale of Grit segment? It is true that after meeting them, I found that they shared a very good friendship rather than a teacher-student relationship. But the real reason behind me sharing their story is because I was amazed about the cause that created their bonding.

The college has been preparing for their Reaccreditation process and needs to prepare itself for a sort of inspection by a team of experts. The library is a part of the criteria for the grading given to the college by this team. One fine day some months ago, Sameer visited his College Library and he found out that there could be a lot that could be improved. After talking to the Librarian, he understood that it was next to impossible to re-arrange and manage such a big library of more than 30,000 books with limited manpower. He came up with the idea of asking the college students to volunteer in rearranging the books in their free time. He shared his thoughts with Ms. D’souza and without wasting time, she took him to the Principal Dr. Sanjay Vakil. I could make out that Dr. Sanjay Vakil is an able and dynamic principal, from the way Ms. D’souza and the students spoke about him.

With the permission from the Principal and the backing of Ms. D’souza, Sameer started talking to other students to volunteer in arranging Library. Sameer told me that initially he started this Library Arrangement Project with some other group of students; but day by day a few of them stopped coming and also in the meantime new members joined the movement. And finally, the above mentioned team has somehow survived to become Firm Volunteers in arranging the College Library which is the 2nd biggest library of the colleges in Ahmedabad.

These volunteers spend an extra 3-4 hours daily to arrange the books with their regular studies. They also come on holidays and Sundays to accomplish the task. In the process of arrangement, they glue the torn pages of certain books and cover some of them to prevent the further damage. They have also cleaned the storage area and swept, wiped & mopped the room. They segregated and labeled the books to make for an easy access in future.  While segregating the books they found that this Library has a great collection of the books on different subjects like Accounting, Management, Economics, Statistics, Law, Literature, Biography, Encyclopedia, Religious, Novels and Fictions too.

The volunteers acknowledged that while doing this task they have also learned and benefited a lot. They came to know about Great Books and great Authors. They got a clear idea about their own interest of the subject. Being with books they have been inspired to read more. They are being noticed and getting special admiration from all the teachers and the admin staff. Their work has been appreciated in the GLS Newsletter – ‘GLS Voice’. They admitted that they have a great amount of self satisfaction of doing something for their own college, which is going to be helpful to current students as well as the students of the future. And a significant result is they have become very good friends with each other.

H. A. College of the Commerce is the Help Centre of the Gujarat University for the admission process in streams like - B. Com., BBA, BCA, M. Sc. -IT, & MBA. This group has also volunteered in helping the huge walk-in crowd in understanding the Online Admission Process. When the Principals of other colleges become aware about this group, they requested them to help their colleges also. This group has also volunteered in the admission process of the other colleges like, Sir L. A. Shah Law College and I. M. Nanavati Law College for LLB-3, LLB-5 & LLM-3 courses. The newspaper - DNA Ahmedabad - has also published an article about their social work.

The volunteers do believe that they have found their ability to do such admirable work along with their studies because of their friendship with their own teacher Ms. D’souza. All of them eat, laugh and hang out together daily. They visit each other’s families and can talk about anything at all. The parents of these students are not worried at all because they know their children are spending time in good company with the nourishment and care of Ms. D’souza. The Tale of Grit is that the members of this group want to continue such social work in future along with their careers.

By sharing the Tale of Grit of this ‘H. A. College Group’ through my blog article - I would like to salute all the Parents of these volunteers who have greatly nurtured them to become ‘Good Humans’. I would love to applaud for Ms. D’souza for sharing a friendship with her students and encouraging them to be a part of such social activities. And I’m so grateful to all the volunteers who have become a great source of inspiration to the society. I truly believe that such young blood is needed everywhere; who, instead of enjoying themselves with mindless activities, are spending their time in being useful to others… ad

In my school days this prayer ‘Aye Malik Tere Bande Hum’ was daily being played and I’m glad the practice is still being continued by my kid’s school. This prayer is actually a song from the movie ‘Do Aankhe Barah Haath’. The great lines of the prayer are written by Bharat Vyas and it is beautifully sung by The Legend Lata Mangeshkar in the movie.

Aye malik tere bande hum, aise ho hamare karam.
Neki par chale aur badi se tale, taki haste hue nikle dam.
Aye malik tere bande hum …

Dear God, we are your souls, (please bless us) so we do our (daily) deeds as if; we can always live the life with honesty and ignore the unethical path hence we can die with a smile.
Dear God, we are your souls…

Bada kamzor hai aadmi, abhi laakhon hai is mein kami,
Par tu jo khada hai dayalu bada, teri kripa se dharti thami
Diya tune hamne jab janam, tu hi jhelega hum sab ke gam…
Neki par chale aur badi se tale, taki haste hue nikle dam.
Aye malik tere bande hum …

The human is very weak (from inside) and having lacks of deficiency, but you are there (to save us) and because of your mercy, this world is still resistible. Since you have given us birth, you will also (give us strength) to bear our troubles…
We can always live the life with honesty and ignore the unethical path, hence we can die with a smile.
Dear God, we are your souls…

Yeh andhera ghana chaa raha, tera insaan gabhara raha,
Ho raha bekhabar kuch na aata nazar, sukh ka suraj chhupa ja raha.
He teri roshni me jo dam, tu amawas ko kar de punam…
Neki par chale aur badi se tale, taki haste hue nikle dam.
Aye malik tere bande hum …

This world is being surrounded by the darkness (of negativity) and the human (mind) is being fearful because the human is unaware (of his/her own strength) and cannot see the light of real Happiness is being hidden (inside only). The light of your existence (inside the soul) is so bright; it can turn the moonless night into the full moon…
We can always live the life with honesty and ignore the unethical path, hence we can die with a smile.
Dear God, we are your souls…

Jab zulmo ka ho saamna, tab tu hi hamen thamna,
Woh burai kare hum bhalai bhare, Nahin badle ki woh kamna.
Badh uthe pyaar ka har kadam, Aur mite bair ka yeh bharam,
Neki par chale aur badi se tale, taki haste hue nikle dam.
Aye malik tere bande hum …

Dear God, please hold us firmly when we face any sinful behavior; so we can respond the other with the kindness against their immoral act. There should not be any desire of revenge in our mind. We can take every forward step with so much Love and through this we can diminish the illusion of reprisal.
We can always live the life with honesty and ignore the unethical path, hence we can die with a smile.
Dear God, we are your souls…

This prayer inspires us to walk on the path of ultimate happiness and peace through honesty, forgiveness and nonviolence… ad

No one has yet understood that how, when and where an end of life will come; but through this prayer, we can demand and visualize the ideal state of our last time – ‘The End’. Here in this Prayer the poet ‘Brahmanand’ explains the ideal state a soul and human body should have at the last breath of life. With this prayer one can desire a favor from Lord Krishna to be present and provide complete peace of mind & disease free body when the life comes to an end.

Itna to karna Swami, jab praan tan se nikle,
Govind naam le kar, tab praan tan se nikle…

Dear Swami (Lord Krishna), I request you to please do me a favor, at the last moment of my breath; I could utter the name of Govind (another name of Lord Krishna) and that becomes an end to my life…

Shree Gangaji ka tat ho, ya Yamunaji ka vat ho,
Mera Saanvra nikat ho, jab praan tan se nikle…

I should be at either bank of the Ganga or Yamuna (sacred rivers of India) and I could see my Dark Lord (Lord Krishna) close by me at the last moment of my breath…

Shree Vrindavan ka sthal ho, mere mukh me tulsi dal ho,
Vishnu charan ka jal ho, jab praan tan se nikle…

I could also be at the Vrindavan and there should be a leaf of Basil and water of Lord Vishnu’s (Lord Krishna) feet in my mouth, at the last moment of my breath…

Sanmukh Saanvra khada ho, bansi ka swar bhara ho,
Tircha charan dhara ho, jab praan tan se nikle…

I could see my Dark Lord in front of me with his twisted state of legs and can hear the sweet voice of his flute, at the last moment of my breath…

Sir sohana mukut ho, mukhde pe kaali lat ho,
Yehi dhyaan mere ghat ho, jab pran tan se nikle…

Through my heart, I could only focus on the Golden Crown (of Lord Krishna) and a black string of hair on the face (of Lord Krishna); at the last moment of my breath…

Jab kanth praan aave, koi rog na satave,
Yam darshan na dikhave, jab praan tan se nikle…

When my last breath comes to my throat I should not suffer from any disease. And I don’t want to see Yam (God of Hell) at the last moment of my breath…

Mera praan nikle mukh se, tera naam nikle mukh se,
Bach jaaun ghor dukh se, jab praan tan se nikle…

My last breath should come out through my mouth and I should utter your name with it; with this I could survive from terrible pain at the last moment for my breath…

Us vakt jaldi aana, nahi shyam bhul jaana,
Bansi ki dhun sunana, jab praan tan se nikle…

Dear Shyam (another name of Lord Krishna) don’t forget to come early at the end (of my life) and make me hear the sweet voice of your flute at the last moment of my breath…

Yeh nek si araj he, maano to kya haraj hai,
Kuch aapka faraj hai, jab praan tan se nikle…

This is my modest appeal to you and (according to me) it is not a big deal for you; and also your responsibility (to come) at the last moment of my breath…

‘Vidhyanand’ ki yeh arji, khudgarj ki hai garji,
Aage tumhari marzi, jab praan tan se nikle…

This is the (utmost) request of ‘Brahmanand’ (the poet) and I’m saying this being a proud person, but after all (you will do) as per your wish at the last moment of my breath…

Jai Shree Krishna… ad

Mother: “Who is your favorite God?”
Son: “Hanumaan, Lord Krishna, Ganpati Bapa and that - Naaraayan Naaraayan.” Hahahaha… the son started laughing, which made his mother laugh…

Mother: “You mean Narad Muni?!!”
Son: “Yes, Narad Muni & that one also, who is having a snake around his neck.”
Mother: “Lord Shiva!?”
Son: “Yes, Lord Shiva.” And after a bit, son asked his mother…

Son: “Mumma, does snake also have God inside its heart?”
Mother: “Yes, God is everywhere and also in the heart of every living thing.”
Son: “If God is there in snake’s heart, then why snake bites?” The mother took a chance to ask a counter question…

Mother: “You are also having a God in your heart, then why are ‘You’ behaving badly sometimes?” The Son could only give a smile in reply and the mother continued…

Mother: “God is counting every act of yours. If you are behaving badly, then God will be sad with you. And if you are behaving Good, Helping someone and having good Habits then God will be so happy with you.”
Son: “Do you know Mumma, one day I had helped one Ant. Come with me, and I’ll show you.” Son takes his mother outside…

Son: “Can you see these ants Mumma? One day, one ant was trying to carry some food. But the ant was so tired and she was not able to carry that food to her home. So, I picked up the food and kept it near her house. And after that, all the ants started taking that food towards their home. By this way I helped that Ant. Does that mean God is now happy with me?”

Mother: Yes of course my Son, God is now happy with you and so do I. And all the Ants might have clapped for you, because you have helped them out. Very Good my Son, keep it up…”

I’m so glad my Son is having a good heart and unknowingly doing acts of kindness…

From last few days I have noticed that my son has started talking a lot. He not only asks so many questions, but he also has so many things to share. So many times I and my husband had asked our son to keep quiet because of his nonstop chatting. I was eagerly looking for a Mute button for my child’s nonstop soundtracks. But after such conversation, I came to know about an adoring act of my child.

So many times we don’t talk to our children because we are busy. So many times we don’t notice our children because we think it’s not worth watching. So many times we don’t understand what their real intention behind their behavior is. So many times we don’t care and admire about their acts of goodness. And behind all this ignores the key excuse is – we don’t have time.

But if we notice our own lifestyle – we are wasting so much of time in checking and chatting with our social networking connections, watching TV, gossiping, reading and watching insignificant news lines and worrying always about tomorrow. For a change, stop wasting such time and devote that much of time to your children. Watch them being real, Listen to their meaningless talks, Play stupid games with them, Love them, Hug them, Praise them and don’t forget to say that you love them a lot…

Openly talking and spending time with the children will help them to understand how they should think, behave and act. This will help us to understand the good qualities of our child as I have come to know about the act of kindness by my little one. This will help us to be with a Great Source of Inspiration - ‘A Child’ as I have got inspiration to write a few words. This will help us to understand our children better and if required we can mold them to become a Good Human at a very early stage.

This world is always in need of the people with Good Heart who are being thoughtful and caring for each other. A more caring and loving people can make the world more peaceful and alive. The world of the future is in our hands we can either make it scary or beautiful. Think & be Wise… ad

Today's era might be known as 'Selfie Era' in the future!!! Nowadays having a smart-phone and taking Selfie has become a trend. And this trend is very much popular among the youth, oldies, groups and celebrities. Before few days I have read a news line on Selfie; that was so-called the 'Richest Selfie'. Yeah, it was a selfie of the three richest persons on the planet!!! I have also seen one other Selfie which has got the highest numbers of likes on a social media, when a famous pop-singer has purposely come into the Selfie frame of her fan. Almost everyone takes selfie and set as their profile picture; to get noticed, to get likes and to get attached to their world of connections.

Even I have chosen one of my favorite Selfies for this blog post. Isheta Sarckar has taken this selfie. She is an Anchor, Model, Singer, Performer and a very Beautiful Inspiring Woman I know. Why this selfie is one of my favorites? - Because it was clicked during her LIVE performance. It was taken while she was WORKING!!! And even if she was working, you can notice the Charm, the Confidence, the Satisfaction and the Happiness on her face. She is carrying a posture of a WINNER. Like she has achieved all the goals on that day & now she is celebrating. And also eagerly waiting for tomorrow to start making future dreams come true!!! You can also check the surroundings; people also seem to be very HAPPY!! Happy with her performance, happy with her WORK and happy to get happiness from her efforts!! These people are also capturing the moments of her conquest to get more and more inspiration and happiness.

You all might be doing some different kind of works. You might be studying. You might be working on projects. You might be chasing deadlines. You might be in search of employment. You might be taking care of your home & family. Or the best of all works - you might be spending your valuable time in making some needed happy. Whatever works you might be doing all the day, but do you take such selfies at our workplace? The selfies; which are filled with victory and that too with the whole happiness of surroundings!!!

It's a difficult task indeed, but I think it's not an impossible one. This stage of achievement, anyone can bring at their workplace. Start loving your job or do the job you would love to do. Whatever works you might be doing, don't do just for the economic income. You can do it for creating a change - A positive change in the world. You can do it being a true Leader. You can do it while spreading positivity & happiness to your surroundings. You can also do it for your inner happiness. Being happy in your work and attaining daily little wins can lead you to the achievement of your dream desire. Start working and pursue your innermost desire with the high amount of self-confidence, full devotion towards the goal and work hard until the accomplishment of the task. And don't forget to take the SELFIES of your inner happiness at some stage of performance to gain and multiply such encouragement wave.

I hope and pray; you can get an Inspiration through this stimulating selfie. I hope you start finding happiness in your work. I hope you can achieve your daily little goals and finally can take a selfie of inner happiness at your WORK. Keep continue selfieing

I heartily thank Isheta Sarckar for taking such a Graceful selfie and inspiring me to write some words on it. Thanks Isheta, I wish you always construct all your desires and continue creating an aura of happiness through your work… ad
