Let me begin with a small story.

By mistake, a boy kept his teacher’s book in his school bag and brought home. Next day, when teacher asked the class about her missing book, he couldn’t utter a word! He was scared.

He was fearful till the time the teacher assured the class that she won’t be angry and she’ll give away a big sticker! He quickly raised his hand and accepted his mistake. Teacher praised him for telling the truth and made everyone do scout-clapping for him. On the same day he shared his experience in his ‘My Day’ notebook. Next day, when teacher checked his ‘My Day’, she writes a note - ‘Always Speak Truth’.

When the boy’s mother found out about the incident she made her child understood the learning from this incident. – Firstly, he should have checked the thing before keeping it in his bag. Secondly, mistakes happen, and for that he shouldn’t be scared of anyone; instead he should have accepted his mistake in the first place. And lastly, she said “Teacher is expecting you to be truthful always.” She made her own perception on reading the teacher’s comment!

“No Mumma, it’s not like that!” The boy was not agreeing with the last point of his mother. And he added, “By this note my teacher wants to say that - I Always Speak Truth”. He was sure about his teacher’s point of view.

The mother was aware about her child’s truthful nature, but she wanted her child to be truthful with everyone and somehow, she made a different perception for the teacher’s point of view. She thought the teacher was trying to state ‘comment’ instead of ‘Praise’. But the boy was very clear about it and made a Complete Positive Perception for his teacher’s note! Wow!

A simple comment conveyed two different perceptions, to the two different people of the two different ages. One perception was Partial Positive and the other was Complete Positive. The mother could have also built a complete positive perception and it would have ended by praising her child by saying, “See, your teacher is very happy with you because you always speak truth.” But she missed the chance.

Her partial positive perception (which is also called partial negative) could have made the child sadden, even after being truthful. But the child took both the teacher and his mother’s point of view positively. Maybe that’s the reason, why the wise people always suggest - ‘To think like a child’.

Such incidents happen every day with everyone in this world. And we, the so-called ‘Grownups’ seize it with our own perception. Most of the time, we don’t crosscheck the injected negativity in our perception. Our own perception fills bitterness in our mind and that bitterness builds up a great wall of differences and ends up with hatred towards the other.

In some cases, we are always sure about the negativity of the other person (it might be the end result of the wall, built up by one of them between the two), and we build negative perception amid the past experiences. But in most cases, we barely know the other person and we build negative perception without checking them separately. And in all the instances, by building great wall of negativity around us we end up with loneliness or we get accompanied with miserable people. And ultimately it ruins our own life.

There is one saying in Gujarati language: ‘દ્રિષ્ટિ એવી સૃષ્ટિ
Meaning: Creation is similar to the Vision.

Thus, in order to destroy the prison of negativity, we’ll have to change our own perception. We’ll have to habituate ourselves to build a complete positive perception in all incidents we participate. Initially, it may seem difficult but we all are capable for it, because we all have gone through our childhood. The change in our own perception can build the bridge of amity between the two… ad

મન-મંદિરના ખૂણે-ખૂણા ને સાફ કરું છું ઘડી-ઘડી;

I keep cleaning each corner my heart’s temple repetitively; I want to open the door of my inner-world but the webs of my own attachments restrict me…

ગુણ-દુર્ગુણને અવગણીને ઘરમાં ખુશીઓ ભરતી રહી;

I kept filling the (so-called) happiness to my house by ignoring the integrity & offences (- both of mine and the others); and at the end the bag of life’s morality was empty…

Reputation is a word made of glass. It may destroy an individual completely, if one doesn’t care enough. And that’s the reason we think a lot before doing or saying anything in public or on social media. Because our acts reveals our character and our character builds our reputation.

Through the social media we are connected with each other like never before. But we all know how much we hide ourselves from the virtual and the real world. We wear so many masks to cover up the real thoughts and real character to the world. And all these just because we care a lot about the reputation built up by the time. So, we take up and precede all our acts very cautiously either by hiding or by pretending. Such act of constant pretending always keeps destroying our own being. We can’t be free and over certain period we feel worthless.

But if we look back in the History we find some people who were never worried about their reputation and they’ve lived their life with complete freedom. All of them were performing one common act; with complete affection towards it and that too without getting destroyed their reputation. And that act is Devotion – Lovingly worshiping the God. This act has never destroyed anyone’s reputation from ages. And to support this statement I would like to share one Devotional Song written by the Poet Premaldaas. This devotional song narrated with the real life examples highly promotes the loving worship towards the Lord Krishna.

હરિને ભજતાં હજુ કોઈની લાજ જતી નથી જાણી રે,
જેની સુરતા શામળિયાની સાથ, વદે વેદ વાણી રે...

Not yet heard of anyone’s reputation being destroyed by lovingly worshiping The Hari (Lord Krishna); those, whose complete dedication is towards Shamaliya (Lord Krishna), says the words of the Vedas…

વ્હાલે ઉગાર્યો પ્રહલાદ હિરણ્યકશ્યપ માર્યો રે,
વિભીષણને આપ્યું રાજ, રાવણ સંહાર્યો રે...

That Dear (Lord Krishna) had saved The Prahlaad and killed The Hiranyakashyap; given the kingdom to The Vibhishan and destroyed The Ravan…

વ્હાલે નરસિંહ મહેતાને હાર, હાથોહાથ આપ્યો રે,
ધ્રુવને આપ્યું અવિચળ રાજ, પોતાનો કરી સ્થાપ્યો રે...

That Dear (Lord Krishna) had accompanied Narsinh Mehta personally; given everlasting status to The Dhruv and established him as his (Lord Krishna’s) dignitary …

વ્હાલે મીરાં તે બાઈના ઝેર હળાહળ પીધા રે,
પંચાળીનાં પૂર્યા ચીર, પાંડવ કામ કીધા રે...

That Dear (Lord Krishna) had drunk the deadliest poison (plotted for) The Meera; covered Paanchali (Draupadi) with the pieces of clothes and accomplished all the missions of The Pandavas…

આવો હરિ ભજવાનો લાહવો ભજન કોઈ કરશે રે,
કર જોડી કહે પ્રેમળદાસ ભક્તોના દુઃખ હરશે રે...

The ones, whose enjoyment is within worshiping The Hari (Lord Krishna) with the Devotional songs; says Premaldaas (The Poet) with folded hands, (Lord Krishna) will take away the pain of (his) devotees ….

હરિને ભજતાં હજુ કોઈની લાજ જતી નથી જાણી રે...

Not yet heard of anyone’s reputation being destroyed by lovingly worshiping The Hari (Lord Krishna) …

Here in this devotional song the Poet Premaldaas urges all of us by folding his hands to worship Lord Krishna. We can worship that divine with any name of our own choice like - Krishna, Brahman, Buddha, Jesus, Mohammad, Godliness, Existence, Love etc. but we shouldn’t hesitate in connecting with that one supreme power who is the creator of life on the earth.

It is said in Bhagwad Geeta - "સર્વ વેદો દ્વારા જાણવા યોગ્ય હું જ છું."
Meaning: I (Lord Krishna) am the one who is acquainted through all (the knowledge) of all Vedas.

Know the Self, understand that eternal power; try to be more and more connected with Oneness. I know, in this modern era we are so much busy in working for our living and that too by keeping our Reputation safe and secure. But with that we must travel towards our own inner world, and worshiping that Divine happily by keeping our heart filled with Love and affection is definitely going to help the internal journey. And history has made us assured that act of Devotion is not going to affect our Reputation... ad

"Before I Die I want to _____."

A few days ago I had asked everyone in my contact to complete the above statement for their own life. And believe me I got the tremendous reverts - Travel the World, Adventures, Fulfill all the dreams and Achievements in different areas of life - were the most reverts (I am so happy for you Guys and all the very best!). But there are few reverts which needs a special attention.

Some Tech-savvy persons wants - To get invisible, To get a time machine, To re-live some special moments and To live the moments from the past where they were not the part of it. (Interesting!)

Some of the Young at heart people wants – To be young forever and Relive the youthful days. (Good! Keep it up!)

Some of Learners wants - To learn languages like Sanskrit & Sign-language and Read a holy book like ‘Bhagwad Geeta’. (Great! Learning is a lifelong process.)

There was one Cool person also who wants - To live life as it is. (Bingo!)

Some of the Kind hearts wants – To teach the poor children and Work for NGO. (I’m so grateful to you all!)

There are some Lovely people too who wants - To tell their special ones those magical words – ‘I Love You’ (Yeah! We all should say those words everyday to our special ones! ‘Love’ is the only power which creates the Miracles…)

There are few Wise people also who wants - To see more green and less plastic on the earth. (I agree. Nowadays it has become the global need and we all must work on that…)

There is one intellectual person who wants - To make common sense ‘Common’. (And yes there is scarcity of 'Common Sense'. We need to get much more smart and active.)

But I'm feeling glad that I'm in contact with those people too, who just replied "Live". (I wish every one of us remember to ‘Live’ ... to live in the moment... to live each moment at its fullest…)

And last but not the least one person wants – To take Diksha! (This revert is from a person who doesn't look or behave Spiritual! Hey friend, your revert reminds me of travelling the inner world and I would love to work on that path… It starts with the darkness and I’m still in the darkness …)

Huh! ... All these reverts shows that people plan for their life in advance. No one is aware what's going to happen in the next moment but still we don't leave the ‘Hope’ and we plan our days, travels, careers, old age, emergencies and Death too! What? You mean, you haven’t planned for the death? Think again ...

We all have our medical, travel, accident, life and kinds of insurances. That’s a planning for the truth of the end of this body by one or the other way. And we don't know when that last moment will be in front of us. It might be the next one... (Sorry! for saying that …)

So we already have plans for our life and death. But sometimes miracles happen and we live better than we have planned for and sometimes it’s just reverse. We always change our plans according to winding we may face. So, in every fortune or uncertainty we’ll have to keep ourselves and our family ready.

For example, No one plans for going into a Coma or a brain death or an incurable disease or might be curable but not affordable illness or such surgeries after which we might be unable to live as before. And in almost all such cases our family takes decisions on behalf of us while we were complete unconscious.

We don't discuss in prior for such uncertainty, and that's the reason we create a high mental and financial pressure on our own family to take decision for our life. In both the ways whatever decision they take for us, we make them feel guilty for taking such decision.

So better you decide on your own about what you want to do in such circumstances - To live with the help of the machines or just go away with the amount of life you have lived! Think about it deeply, you might have attained some of your wants and many of them might be still pending! Discuss with your family about such uncertainty and leave a clear ‘Disclaimer’ for your own life. In that case your own family will be clear about taking decision and will be able to live without any guilt and moreover that you’ll not curse your own family for taking decision on your behalf.

So my dear friends just add such disclaimer like - 'Before I Die I want to make clear to my family that I want / don’t want to live with the help of Machines. I want / don’t want my family to take financial risks to keep me alive. I want / don’t want to live after serious medical surgery where I may not live as before. I want / don't want to donate my organs. ' Be practical and strong enough to decide such things and most importantly make aware your friends and family about it.

And for the rest of the plans of life, we all are aware that - we have to start living in the moment, make ourselves better than before, work harder, forget and forgive each other, be more kind and calm, feel the pain of the other and ‘Be The Love’ ... but only awareness doesn't work on its own, we'll have keep going till the end ... ad

A boy was reading a book. He saw a picture of a camel. And according to the boy, that camel was smiling! He ran with the book to his mother and showed her that Smiling Camel’s picture.

Boy: “See Mumma, this picture of a camel. “
Mother: “Yeah let me see.”
Boy: “Don’t you think it’s a Smiling Camel?”
Mother: “Yes you are right. This camel seems to be happy.”
Boy: “One day I had seen one camel sitting on the roadside. But that camel was very sad... “
Mother: “Ohh! But why you felt it was sad? “
Boy: “These much big rope was passed through its nose!” He showed the size of the rope with his little fingers. “And that rope was connected to the cart... “
After a pause he continued…
“If somebody passes that much big rope through our nose .... Are we going to feel happy?”
Mother: “No Beta, no one gonna feel happy like this... “
Boy: “But why people do this to the animals? I have seen such rope used with horses and bullocks too!”
Mother: “People do this with animals to control them & train them to work for them.”
Boy: “They should use some mask and make animals wear it instead of passing the rope through the nose! At least it’ll not hurt them.”
Mother:”Yeah. You are absolutely right Beta...”

I felt good about my child that he can understand the emotions of the other and can feel the pain - the other might have suffered. I could see it while he was expressing his feelings. He was able to differentiate the happiness and sadness between two camels.

Nowadays, as my son has suggested, the Face Harness is available for the animals. The option of online shopping for Harness is also available. I ask all of you to please suggest Face Harness option to the animal owner when you see any nose roped animal. Please feel the pain of an animal and don’t forget to share. It might be possible the owner of the animal isn’t aware.

Well this discussion made me think about the human nature. We, so called humans not only try to control the animals but sometimes the other humans too. The virtual nose rope is applied here! Ask the same question before being harsh to the other “If somebody passes that much big rope through our nose .... Are we going to feel happy?”

Understand the pain you pass through your harsh behavior, words and acts. After certain level regrets of the past doesn’t work to improve the healthiness in the relationships. So it’s the time become proactive. To think before we say or react. Any situation or relation can be well maintained with positive emotions and understanding the pain of the other.

A change in our own behavior will make the difference in the smiles people give us in reply. We’ll be able to feel the ripples of the happiness initiated in the pond of life. And that will be perfect picture of life similar to this Smiling Camel… ad
